Pretty Spring Banners

Pennant banners are all the rage these days. You see them in party décor, scrap booking, gift cards, and paper crafts. I love them because they are an inexpensive way to make a big impact in an empty space and add the cutest details to small work. I also love that I get to use all of that scrap booking paper I have been hording.
Supplies:
Paper
Template
Scissors
Tape
Ribbon
Twine
Sewing machine
Embellishments
First of all there is a bunch of shapes, sizes, colors, and ways to do this. My favorite is the easiest and fastest.
1. Copy and print the template I have provided. I printed mine on heavy cardstock. The template offers a variety of sizes.Just trace on your desired paper and cut out. You could also use a punch or cutting machine to get your shapes.
2. Cut or punch your shapes from your paper. Ink or chalk edges if you want.
Now this is where the different techniques come in. I will start with what I think is the easiest.
3. I use tape. There are a so many kinds of fun tape out there now. I use Japanese masking tape. It comes in fabulous colors and patterns.
4. Lay the tape on a cutting mat so you can use the straight lines. The sticky side needs to be up.
5. Line your shapes up on the tape.
6. Fold over the tape and use a bone folder to crease the tape.

That’s it! Its that easy. I love this look on the edge of a shelf.
Some other techniques are:
1. use your sewing machine and sew right through the shapes. Its really great for odd shaped sizes.

2. Instead of tape across all the pennants sew or glue a ribbon across the top
3. Punch holes and thread twine, ribbon, lace, or string
They can be the perfect touch for Saint Patrick’s day, Easter, or Mothers day brunch!
For both the pennant and Saint Patrick’s day banners just save to your computer and print!
