Tis The Season For Glitter & Flock

Velvet flock and glitter just seem to say"The holidays are here!" I use them on everything! Its this time of year we are all so busy making cards, gifts, ornaments, and all the crafting necessity's of the holidays. I have found a few tips and shortcuts I would like to share with you. Double sided tape is the key to this tip. You can get in in sheets, rolls, dots, even shapes. I like to use Therm O Web sheets and Zots and I use Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock.

I use my Cuttlebug to die cut shapes into the tape sheet. Punches and other die cut machines would also work. Or you could even cut them by hand. You pour generous amounts of glitter or flock onto your shape. I really press hard on the glitter and flock. Note: if using glass glitter do not use your fingers. Press down with something else. Then you pour your excess back into your container. You simply peel the back off and use like a sticker!

I am really into polka dots right now. I have a super easy way to make velvet or glitter polka dots. Just take your paper and place adhesive dots in a random order. Follow the directions from above and tah dah you have pretty polka dots.

So go get some flock and glitter and have fun creating!

  2. Brandy, I LOVE this! I have been making flocked and glittered polka dots on things for kits and have been using a qtip and glitter glue. It works fine, but takes FOREVER, so this is just great! (you know I love polka dots too!)
I had never thought of using those adhesive sheets! Great ideas!
    Thanks for sharing!

  3. I love this blog. This year I'm going to make a lot of my own decorations for a tree because I want to have a Victorian theme tree with all hand made ornaments so I'm getting lots of ideas.

    Thank you so much.
